On-Call Support Staff

One of the positions that I offer is called on-call staff. The primary purpose for this on-call position is to have backup people to cover shifts.

The following are some instances in which on-call staff would be utilized:

  • Staff can’t work one or more of their regularly scheduled shifts in advance during a given month. In this case, you will be able to sign up for these available shifts when I email out the monthly schedule.
  • Sometimes, a staff requests time off during the current month’s schedule. In this case, I will make those newly available shifts known to you by email, which you can then sign up for. (However, all staff are strongly encouraged to ask for time off at least two weeks in advance, I do know that sometimes this is hard to adhere to, such as for a family emergency or funeral).
  • A staff becomes sick without any warning. In this case, you will be asked to cover an ill staff’s shift several hours beforehand.
  • Occasionally, I require two people for a certain shift
