I know it may seem too good to be true, but I actually pay for someone to sleep in my home for the overnight shift. I do this because I am unable to evacuate independently, in a case of a fire, earthquake, or some other kind of natural disaster – thankfully a rare event. Also I can’t just get up for an extra blanket, trip to the bathroom, or dose of medicine, therefore need someone there to assist me in case I need these things, usually once in a blue moon. Otherwise, I like to sleep throughout the night without any regular checks. Because of this, the overnight staff do get a fair amount of sleep during the overnight shift.
As an overnight support staff you will be provided with:
- a couch to sleep on
- blankets and pillows
- access to a bathroom for your bedtime routine
