One of the best ways to empower me is to do be reliable, dependable, and punctual. If you can do this in one or more of the areas listed below, you will give me a great gift that I will appreciate more than you can imagine. Volunteering for me will be much more gratifying if you choose to assist with tasks that you are good at and/or feel passionate about. Since I need to make my life as stable as possible, I ask all volunteers to make at least a six month commitment.
You can pick a volunteer area from the following list:
- Proofread some of the things that I write, I write a wide variety of things.
- Create Excel spreadsheets.
- Do online research.
- Post things on Facebook.
- Create eye-catching flyers with Photoshop, Publisher, or some other graphic program.
- Help out with art and/or sewing projects.
- Fundraise. This entails working with three of my close friends.
- Help keep her home clean and organized, to my liking.
- Help out with my pet cats.
- Be with me until one of my support staff can come into work. If you are interested in this, you will learn how to help me with meals and a few other things.
- Run little errands when I can’t get out.
- Drive me to places in my insured minivan. As you can imagine, you need a driver’s license and good driving record to do this task. Van training would be provided.
- Sleep at my home in case of a (rare) overnight emergency. If this interests you, you will receive training on how to assist me if I require anything during the night, which is uncommon. You can browse the roommate section or overnight staff section of this website to find out more about this task.
